After years of faithful service, it was finally time to retire our 1988 Chevrolet Suburban, as it had become quite the clunker. We inherited a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer that had originally belonged to the Town of Apex Parks and Recreation department. In February, the Town of Apex seal was replaced with the Apex Fire Department patch and striping. In March 2003, the light bar, siren and radio were installed.

As of July 2003, this vehicle is now being driven by the Fire Chief as Car 1.
