2002 Quality Pumper
Last Updated: 02 October 2002

Four of our firefighters flew to Talladega, AL on Tuesday 8/6 to visit Quality's manufacturing site and thoroughly inspect our new truck. Once the acceptance testing was complete, they drove it back North Carolina. A crowd of us were waiting at the station when they pulled into town around 5pm on Friday 8/9.

Our latest acquisition has a Spartan Gladiator chassis, a 1500 GPM Hale pump and a 750 gallon tank capacity. It also boasts a compressed air foam system. Stay tuned for more details and photos as we work to put this truck into service!

New Lettering (October 2002)
The new engine is NEARLY ready for service! The put some of the finishing touches on in early October, like these reflective door stickers.

New equipment (September 2002)
A-shift has been working to place all the new equipment on the truck.

Flushing the pump and the discharges (10 August 2002)
C-shift gave the pump a thorough flushing Saturday afternoon.
The Outside...
LED lights placed strategically about the exterior makes this one of our most highly visible trucks. The hinged side panel unlatches and swings open to allow easy access to the pump mechanics.

The Inside...
A comfortable ride for 5 firefighters. An easy-access panel allows us to perform fluid checks without having to raise the cab or lift the lid on a dog box. The rear fold-up seat makes the cab feel quite roomy. We have plenty of storage space with a notebook holder and a large compartment underneath the front-facing seat.
