Chief Haraway started his career as a volunteer in 1979. Since then he has served in each rank within the fire service to his present position as Fire Chief. Chief Haraway holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Service Management and is a certified Fire Officer and a graduate of the North Carolina Institute of Government's Public Administration program. He also holds teaching credentials in Firefighter I/II, Hazmat, Trench Rescue, CPR and WMD. Chief Haraway teaches for NCOSFM, Louisiana Academy of Counter Terrorism and holds a copyright on his own Rapid Intervention Program.
