Howard Miles started volunteering in 1989 with Winter Park Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Lieutenant. He started career firefighting with Apex Fire Department in 2000. Howard is certified in Firefighter I/II, Driver/Operator, First Responder, ERT and Child Safety Seat Technician. In 2002, Howard won awards for Most Calls Attended and Career Firefighter of the Year. Currently, he heads the Child Safety Seat Program and helps with the Explorer Post. On his days off he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathy and son, Jacob.
