Carl Thompson started his firefighting career in 1990 as a volunteer with the Boone Fire Department. He began serving with the Apex Fire Department in 1998 where he is a Volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. He is also a member of the Firefighters' Relief Fund Committee and a past member of the Department's Board of Directors.
