Apex Fire Department Badget Pinning Ceremony

On Friday 15 August 2008, the Apex Fire Department hosted its first-ever badget pinning ceremony, to honor recent promotions and new hires. Families and friends were invited to the evening event held at Station 3.

Interim engineers were officially given the title of Engineer effective 1 July 2008. Recent promotees were:

• A-Shift: Kevin Butts, Thomas Leerkes, Jason Nesbit
• B-Shift: Ian Bass, Pete Cirasole, Scott Pearson
• C-Shift: David Auchmoody, David Cotten, Brian Sykes

Recently, part-time firefighter Jeff Jones was offered a full-time position. In August we hired six new full-time firefighters. Ryan Hillen, Matt Hoina, Melissa Koltonski, Thomas Strom, Zack Lindsey and Tim Medlin came on board on 11 August 2008.
