At 08:10 on 7 May 2009, Apex firefighters were dispatched to a house fire. First arriving units reported heavy fire and smoke conditions. Firefighters made an interior attack and searched the structure. No one was found inside. Units remained on scene until 13:16.
Apex E2, E3, E5, L1, Rescue 3, Tanker 1, Battalion Chief 1, Car 5, and Car 6 responded, along with engines from Holly Springs and Monicure, Apex EMS 41, Wake County EMS District 2, Wake County EMS Truck 1, and WC-1.
