National Night Out

7 August 2007

Apex Firefighters participated in the annual National Night Out Event on Tuesday August 7, 2007 at the Super Target parking lot in the Beaver Creek Commons shopping center. This is the third year the event was held in Apex, organized by the Police Department. We had a table set up with fire prevention information and goodie bags for the kids, and several apparatus on display. Despite temperatures near 100F under a blazing sun with high humidity, citizens came in droves to meet with public safety workers and kept us busy all evening long.

The Hazard House is an interactive display showing a variety of fire safety hazards and what can be done to correct them. It is always a hit with the kids.

Apex Police officers discussed all kinds of public safety topics with adults and children alike.

There were plenty of informational handouts and other goodies for people to take home
