On Saturday 18 February 2006, the Apex Fire Department held its annual appreciation banquet. We were treated to a great dinner by Truelove Catering, awards presentations, and entertainment by comedian Jerry Carroll, otherwise known as "The Willow Spring Wildman".
This year there was a large group of firefighters who were presented with the prestigious Life Saver Award for their heroic actions at incidents last year.
