Fairfax Woods Drive

Apex fire units were dispatched to a structure fire at the model home on Fairfax Woods Drive on Monday, 19 April, at 15:51. Car 3 was first on scene and reported heavy fire showing from the rear of the house. Engine 1 and Engine 3 arrived simultaneously. Crews pulled two of Engine 3's speedlays and performed an interior attack. Car 1, Car 5, Engine 2, Ladder 1, Engine 5, and mutual aid companies from Cary and Morrisville were also on scene, while Holly Springs sent an engine company to stand by at Station 3 to cover the district. Apex EMS was also on-scene to provide rehab.

The fire was marked under control at 16:31. Units remained on scene until 18:18 performing overhaul. It was determined that the blaze was started accidentally in the rear exterior corner of the house by a discarded cigarette.
