North Carolina Rescue College: Tower Rescue

10 - 12, 24 - 26 February 2006

Last Updated: 2/28/2006

Surry Community College hosted the 45th annual North Carolina Rescue College, in conjunction with the NC Office of the State Fire Marshal and NC Association of Rescue Squads and EMS. I participated in the Tower Rescue class, which was headed up by instructors Joe Burris (OSFM), Adam Snyder (Atlantic Beach FD), Mark Rutherford (Gastonia FD) and Carnie Hedgepeth (OSFM). This is a relatively new program designed to teach the specialized skills needed to effect rescues from cell towers, radio towers, and similar structures. I have tried to remember peoples' names and departments but, it seems my memory capacity is inversely proportional to my ever-increasing age so, if I have mis-represented anyone in the photo pages, please email me and let me know so that I can correct it!
