One night in late 1996, a youngster was driving recklessly down Davis Drive in Apex. The road makes a sharp turn at Salem Church Road - unfortunately for this young man, he and his car did not. As a result, he inadvertently dropped in on the couple that owned the house at this intersection, creating a drive-through window into their bedroom and knocking the house off its foundation.

The homeowners chose to build a new house on the same property - and allowed the Apex Volunteer Fire Department to use the old house for live burn training.

We had quite a show for passers-by.	Fully involved...
