Station 3 Construction
Hunter Street

Last Updated: 10/12/2002

Station 3 on Hunter Street is finally COMPLETE! On Thursday 19 September 2002, the furniture arrived. Friday, C-shift personnel worked hard all day to clean the place up and start arranging everything. Over the next week, shifts worked each day to move more stuff into the new station, and purchase and install the little amenities like shower curtains, alarm clocks, etc. On Friday 27 September, our full-time paid staff and administrative offices were officially transferred to Station 3. Volunteers will supplement the paid staff at all three stations. Part-time personnel will continue to man Stations 1 and 2 during the weekdays.

SEPTEMBER 2002

Several big-wigs visited throughout the day on Friday 9/20, including Town Manager Bruce Radford

C-shift (Chris, Alan, Scott and Jody)

Yep, all the trucks fit :-)

An exhaust system for each truck

The new engine already looks right at home in the new house!

The Chief's office...

...complete with meeting table!

This state-of-the-art training room will have the latest and greatest in audio/visual and multi-media technology.

The Fire Marshal's office

House Captains' office

Admin area and radio room

Four dorm rooms hold two beds each

Kitchen with a portable dishwasher

...the most important appliance of all!

The kitchen posed a bit of a space challenge. Brian tries to figure out where the shelf is going to fit.

The only solution - the extra table and chairs had to go!

Ok, it's in there! NOW what?

Bill and Brian marvel at the pretty green cabinet which coincidentally exactly matches the pretty green walls

Let's see how many people we can cram into the kitchen at once!

Break time!

Don't Brian and Shannon look so domestic! [Sorry guys, couldn't resist :-) ]

The EPITOME of domestic - Scott ran the vacuum cleaner like an ol' pro!

Jody adjusts the bay door opener

Chris tries out the fancy new weight equipment

It will be nice to have a climate-controlled spacious exercise area

A small television mounted to the wall will complete this set-up!

Chris, Scott and Alan waste no time in making plans for the new barbecue grill as Billy looks on

More appliances

After working hard all day to set up the station, Alan, Brian and Karl take time to test out the comfort of the day room
AUGUST 2002

The building finally has a name - the letters were put up on Tuesday 8/13.

All of the interior carpeting and flooring has been completed. This is going to be the training room.

The lobby and administration area is shaping up, with the tile, carpeting and countertops installed.

The main reason for the delay was an unexpected switch in electricians (no pun intended!) The new electrician is now on the job and should complete this work within the next few weeks.

Wires, wires EVERYWHERE!

And even MORE wires!

And finally, you guessed it, WIRES!

Front view. There will be three bays, two of which are drive-through for the apparatus. To the right of the bays is a training/meeting room.

A view of the main entrance on the west side of the station.

A view from the back ramp. The room on the left will be a workout facility.

The rooms to the right on the first floor will be offices for the house Captains and the Fire Marshal.
