Wednesday morning 3/8 started out with a report of a brush fire on East Williams Street. Engine 1 and Brush 1 were dispatched at 09:23. Engine 1 arrived on scene and reported a working fire, with extension to the building that houses the Kangaroo convenience store. They immediately called for additional units, and Engine 3, Ladder 3, Engine 2, Battalion 1, Car 1 and Car 5 responded. There was also a mutual aid engine company from Holly Springs as well as Apex EMS. Crews made an interior attack and had the fire under control at 09:45.
