Several of our members participated in OSFM's Water Rescue Technician class in Erwin in July 2005. To prove a point, instructors dressed Howard Miles in firefighting turnout gear and dumped him into the swimming pool (of course with proper safety precautions in place). In just a few short minutes the gear became water logged and Howard had to be rescued from the water.
