Bruce Butner and Mike Beasley headed up the latest Surface Water Rescue Technician class, hosted by Thomasville Rescue Squad in Davidson County. Glenn Clapp and I attended the swiftwater portion of this class when it was offered in Apex earlier this year, however we both missed the first weekend. So in order to get the certification, we had to go through the entire class again. It was well worth the effort, as we got plenty of hands-on practice with a wide variety of water rescue skills in a challenging (and right COLD) environment.
