Vehicle Fire Turns Into Structure Fire!
25 March 2002

At 19:27 Monday 25 March 2002, Engine 1, Engine 3, Ladder 1 and Rescue 1 were dispatched to a vehicle fire threatening a structure on Wild Cherry Drive. As the apparatus checked enroute, dispatchers notified us that the vehicle had exploded and caught the house on fire. Engine 1 arrived on-scene and found two vehicles parked in the driveway, both fully involved. The garage and the wooded area next to the house were also on fire. Crews made an aggressive attack and stopped the fire before it could spread to the remainder of the house. The two vehicles in the driveway were destroyed and there was some damage to the exterior of the garage, as well as heat damage to a vehicle that was parked inside the garage. Other than a bit of smoke, there was no damage to the rest of the house, and there were no injuries.
