Apex Fire Department was dispatched to a fire alarm activation at 12:16 on Friday, 26 March. The alarm company indicated the source was the upstairs smoke detector. While units were enroute, dispatch informed them that several neighbors had called in advising there were flames showing.
Car 4 arrived and reported smoke showing from the roof. Crews pulled two 1.75" hand lines and performed an interior attack. Engine 3, Engine 1, Ladder 1, Tanker 1, Car 1, Squad 1 and Apex EMS responded, along with mutual aid companies from Fairview, North Chatham and Morrisville.
